This leads to the Tetris Effect, a state where the music and puzzle pieces merge together, making you feel like you’re in a trance.

Tetris Effect gets its name from a real phenomenon, commonly called “game transfer phenomena”, wherein the brain finds tetromino shapes in real life objects or dreams — an easy state to achieve if you immerse yourself in the Tetris Effect via virtual reality.

While Tetris Effect (the game, not the syndrome) can certainly be addicting, if you’ve been smoking a lot of cannabis, it’s probably best not to stack the household pets after playing the game.
